Great for a change of pace

May 13, 2013 by Gary
Location: Houston

I have a bad knee injured in a treadmill accident-have had a couple surgeries. I missed running which I used to do religiously before the accident. I have a nice indoor elliptical but was tired of the same thing everyday. The Street Strider is a nice change to get out doors - I've been using it several times a week, started out the first week about a mile and a half a day and now after 3 weeks I am regularly doing 3-4.5 miles. Still getting used to feet placement-the only problem I've had. Definitely better and more of a workout than a bicycle or swimming.

No joint pains the next morning!

I turn 50 this year and I enjoy (or should I say, enjoyed) running. My feet, knees and hips did not! I guess my Wife was tired of me complaining of my aches and pains, because for Christmas, she gave me a StreetStrider. When I first tried it (for only a short distance), I thought, this is fun and pretty easy. My first real workout with it I soon realized, this thing is no joke. 1 mile and I was done, legs felt like wet noodles. I was able to go 4 miles today and with time I'm sure I will reach my goal of 10 miles a day. If your looking for something fun and get a good cardio workout to boot, this is it. The best part is, no joint pains the next morning.

I love my street strider.

Loving it!

I am going to give this five stars because it is wonderful, easy and a blast to ride. The only thing is it is a work out - your legs burn and your arm are getting a great work out. This is why I ordered it and I am not one to order anything like this and I am so glad I have. It is soo worth it.

I love my SS. My family bought it for my b day. So much fun! I did have a problem with the handle bars at first, my chest is rather large and when I brought the bars back they kept hitting me in the chest. Finally, they are adjusted all the way out. It is not as comformtable, but still is so much fun. I have lost inches and lbs.

I LOVE THIS SO MUCH!! I HAVE HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE, CHOLESTEROL, AND ASTHMA AND THE DOCTOR THOUGHT THIS WAS GREAT FOR ME TO BUY. I HAVE BEEN RIDING IT AND EVERYONE KEEPS STOPPING ME TO ASK WHAT IT IS. ONE LITTLE GIRL SAID I WAS FROM THE NEXT DIMENSION. ONE MAN HAD A STROKE AND WANTED TO KNOW ALL ABOUT IT. EASY TO ASSEMBLE, LOTS OF FUN AND I'LL LET YOU KNOW IN A YEAR HOW MY CHOLESTEROL AND HEALTH IS. MANY THANKS FROM A SATISFIED CUSTOMER.

I ride it as much as I can, I love it. We assembled it ourselves, one suggestion, put a note in with the instruction manual to watch the DVD. After we carefully assembled with the manual (with very little pictures), we watched the DVD and WOW! It would have been so much easier had we known.

I love it!!! Occasionally I have to ride through patches of dirt. At first I felt it was impossible, now it's a breeze. I wish the foot boards were the same width the whole way down. I tend to hit my knees sometimes with the handles. It doesn't matter though, I love it!!

Absolutely love my StreetStrider. Looking forward to miles and miles of striding!

Excellent!

May 22, 2012 by Russell Bass
Location: Glencoe, MN

Assembly was quick and easy. The DVD that came with it was very clear and easy to follow. I had the unit built in a couple of hours. The tools that they sent along were OK, but using your own wrenches and sockets makes it much easier.
Since you do not steer with your hands but by leaning, the steering took a bit to get used to. However, after a day's riding, both my wife and I were very proficient.
This is an excellent product and gives you quite the workout.

To me it's a Miracle

My StreetStrider arrived and it is wonderful. I feel already it has changed my life. I can't thank you enough. I have rods in my back and neck plates, screws and fusion from top to bottom. The StreetStrider has given me a new lease on life, I can move with no stress to my body and I am outside going like crazy. I love it! When I first started I could only stride for 10 minutes. Now I ride for more than a mile, twice a day.

I love the StreetStrider. I have had it for a few weeks now but unfortunately haven't gotten to use it as much due to work schedule. But when I do, it is a GREAT workout. Arms, legs, shoulders are all getting used. My heartrate is up in no time which really means longer workouts are not that necessary. I'm working hard the entire time I'm on it. Thinking about purchasing a 2nd one to take to a vacation home. Great product!

Best work out machine I've owned!

Apr 26, 2012 by Jody North
Location: Delaware

I love my Street-Strider! I've had it for a few weeks now and use it every other day. It is a real workout but it's fun. The Strider is like an elliptical machine crossed with a bicycle. My husband has started using my Strider instead of the elliptical at the gym because the StreetStrider gives him a better workout with the same low impact on his knees. I'd like to mention that the Strider is solid and very well made. I am quite happy with it.

I just love it....it took me about 3 hours to put it together, husband not available at the time to help...and I couldn't wait...it took me a little bit to get used to the turning but look out now because here I come. Great product and I love the color.

What a Workout!

Apr 24, 2012 by Cindy Johnson

I have some back issues, so sitting hunched over on a traditional bike will result in me being sore for days. Not so with standing on the StreetStrider. It was very easy to learn and the workout is awesome! I encourage anyone that wants a great ride to get one!

Bought 2 of these on a whim

Apr 13, 2012 by Aaron
Location: Lafayette, LA

I bought 2 of these on a whim, hoping they would be fun and challenging. Right on the money. The instructions were straight forward, making assembly easy. I find the 3 gears to be a great setup. I was a runner for many years, but my knees are beginning to wear out, resulting in joint pain with any impact. The motion of the Sprinter causes no joint pain. The cross training benefit is obvious and you can cover a lot of ground compared to jogging. In short, StreetStriders rock!

Apr 01, 2012 by Pamela Martin
Location: Carrollton, VA

A day or two after I retrieved the assembled but rackless Sprinter from the bike shop, they called to say the rack had come in. It's too much trouble to return the Sprinter to them to add the rack, SO - my suggestion would be to pack the rack with the bike, or at least put a note in to wait for the rack until they call to say the assembly is complete.

I remembered having seen the Street Strider on Dr. Oz. I ordered it, put it together using the easy to follow video & took off on my first ride. I ride DAILY except when it is raining. I live in an area of rolling hills, where I am provided with a HUGE workout which is good cardio & also muscle building. I look forward to many good years of keeping my strider as my exercise companion. BTW I am 67 years old.

The first gear is extremely tough to pedal. I was expecting the first gear to be a little easy and then the others to be a little tougher. All gears are tough to execute. I found that placing my feet towards the back of the pedals makes it a little easier to manage. Good for exercise though.

I am having the time of my life. I'm getting better at leaning instead of turning.

I highly recommend for fun and exercise but take it slow. Ride only in safe places that are familiar until you are accustomed to the operation of this StreetStrider. My neighbors love it, too. They thought that I was crazy until they tried it. They're considering ordering one.

Work your way up so that you are comfortable on it before you take it on the street. Will you get a good work out? You bet! I am working my way to 5 miles every other day. After one mile you know you are getting a good work out. Beats hanging out in a gym.

Feb 08, 2012 by Lynne Thomson

The Street Strider is an amazing workout. Totally kicks by derriere!!! I'm afraid I do not use it as much as I had hoped due to what a serious workout it is. Gets me huffing and puffing very quickly.
I (female) was able to put it together completely. Must admit to being somewhat mechanical.
I have shown it to friends and they have found it to be a real workout also. You may have received an order from one of them as she was considering it.

StreetStrider Sprinter 3r

Jan 20, 2012 by Shannon
Location: Susanville, California

This is a GREAT machine. It is a workout & really does kick your butt but you'll have a BLAST! I have read a lot of reviews of people saying they went a mile their first day or more. Well, for me that was not the case. I am 260, female, & not in great shape but I can sure ride a regular bike a mile. If you are out of shape be prepared to take it slow for a bit, ride everyday a block or two, build up your stamina. It will do what it says though. Worth every penny. Easy to assemble.

I LOVE my StreetStrider!! I love the idea that I can get a great workout outdoors. This is fun, as well as wonderful exercise. It will take me a while to build up my stamina and distance, but I am enjoying the challenge. I am 56 years old and would recommend the StreetStrider to anyone at any age, who wants to stay physically fit, get in good physical condition, or just enjoy the outdoors.

The quality of this product can't be beat!!

Best money I've spent since I bought my road bike over 10 yrs ago. Great workout without feeling like a workout. Not usually an attention getter but love the attention that I get striding. So glad you came up with this alternative to running since my knees are played out. Look forward to striding 5-6 days a week. Definitely not a drudgery!! Am an outside person so this is the answer!!

It gets better and better!

Sep 23, 2011 by Jeff Martinelli

I haven't had my Strider very long but the experience gets better every time I go out on it. It definitely works upper body, lower body and core like no piece of equipment I've ever used as well as the added benefit of improving balance due to the "lean-to" steering. It's also the first time I've ever looked forward to exercising because of the fun factor. Anyone would love this.

The most fun you can have on an exercise machine

Sep 23, 2011 by Alison
Location: Finger Lakes, NY

Had this for 2 weeks and use it almost every day- up to 45 min.; it's exhilarating, a great aerobic workout, like running on air. I have exercise induced asthma but no trouble on this. Hasn't caused any joint pain or problems (53 yo female). People stop their cars to ask me about it; kids shout out "I love your bike". I wouldn't recommend it for busy roads. I use it on back village streets during non rush-hour times or the school lots.I bought bike gloves- hard on the hands. I am addicted!

Wow! What a workout!

Aug 25, 2011 by Amanda

I couldn't believe the workout and this after just a few pedals! It was easy to put together. The video is so easy to follow. At first it felt awkard (I'm 5'4", over 250 lbs) but I soon got used to the motion. Best part my back doesn't hurt while using this. I would recommend to anyone looking to break free of the exercise rut!

MY SPRINTER 3R arrived 3 weeks ago and i LOVE IT, so if you are short don't hesitate, no knee pain, back pain just fun & excercise, rode 1/2 block 1st day 3 weeks later rode 7 miles LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!!!!!

The Streetstrider is a blast. After a little getting used to, you don't want to get off it. In no time my wife and I were riding 15 miles at a time. After she got hers, we thought it would be a great thing we could do together. She's the pace car and I follow her.

Location: Mandeville, LA

I bought the Strider at my daughter's request and it has become a favorite for all four in the family. We get a lot of turned heads and questions when we ride. I thought I was in good shape, having worked out on an elliptical for quite some time, however, I found the StreetStrider adds more to the workout than I imagined. It's easy to ride but not as easy to maintain high speed as on a bicycle. I hope I'll find once I lose some weight it will be a bit easier.

I have to say, this is the most amazing workout ever! You don't get bored, like doing a regular elliptical inside your home or at the gym. You get to enjoy the outdoors and feel so free riding around on your Strider. One thing I won't lie about.... after riding the StreetStrider for an hour, which I do, 7-days a week, I am sooooo hungry the whole day, which means I am burning some mega calories!!! Love my new StreetStrider! Amazing invention! Way to go!

I just weighed in to find that I've lost 6 lbs in the last two weeks by riding by StreetStrider 5 miles per workout. I'm so glad to have found a way to exercise that I actually enjoy. I will be at my target weight in two months and I only ride 4 times per week. Can't wait to try my bikini this summer! Thanks StreetStrider!

This is the best cardiac work out ever! Thirty minutes on this MUST be worth hours on something else. You work arms, core and legs at a minimum. I've had it since Christmas and I SO enjoy it. The only problem is I think I'm going to cause a car wreck soon...I drive it through the neighborhood, and everyone stares at me. I need to wear a shirt with the website address!

We had the StreetStriders sent to the bike shop for assembly. They arrived on a Fri and called us on Mon to pick them up. They are easy to use. It took us a minute to get on and go. My daughter is on hers everyday after school and waits for me to get home and join her! We've only had them for a week, so I'm hoping to improve my distance in the future!

Jan 14, 2011 by Linda Adams

My husband and I bought two of these as Christmas presents to each other.

We absolutely love them! They give you a much more thorough and complete workout than either bicycling or walking.

Plus, they are great conversation starters. Rarely do we have a "striding" session that isn't interrupted by someone asking about the Strider.

No Joke!

Jan 12, 2011 by Kyle Riffel
Location: Kansas

These Striders are no joke! As I thought I was in shape, I was exhausted after taking them half way around the neighborhood. Bought two of these as a Christmas gift for my parents and think they are great for working out. My only criticisms are that the instruction booklet for putting them together doesn't have clear pictures and that there should be an easy release mechanism to fold the handles down so you can store them or transport them a little easier.

Great for rehab after knee surgery

Dec 10, 2010 by Clint
Location: Cardiff by the Sea, CA

The bad news is I had knee surgery 3 1/2 weeks ago.

The good news is, I got a StreetStrider and have been using it for rehab. It's been great - it gets the knee moving through a good range of motion; I can put as much or as little load on the knee as I want to; and it's very low impact on the knee.

I saw the doc for the "three weeks after surgery check up". He was blown away. He said it's one of the fastest recoveries he's ever seen.

Woohoo!

The StreetStrider is exactly what I have been waiting for and everything I hoped it would be. It's fun! I forget I'm exercising because I'm outside moving and it's always something new. It's only been 3 weeks and I have already lost weight and feel myself getting in better shape. I recommend the StreetStrider to everybody I talk to.
