Here are some commonly asked questions and answers. If you don’t find the question and answer you’re looking for, please e-mail or call us, on the ‘Contact Us’ page

Is the StreetStrider safe?

The StreetStrider is very safe. Because our mobile elliptical cross trainer has three wheels, it is inherently very stable.

Is it hard to learn to ride?

The StreetStrider is very easy to learn to ride. We find that it takes 2 to 20 minutes for most people to master the balance and turning needed to ride the StreetStrider comfortably.

Yes you can climb hills on a StreetStrider. The 2010 StreetStrider ETX Biggest Loser model is equipped with an eight speed internal hub transmission that allows the user to climb very step hills in lower gears.

Your ability to climb hills will depend on your level of fitness and familiarity with the StreetStrider. As you get in better shape from riding the machine, and as you become more familiar with riding the StreetStrider, you’ll be able to climb bigger and steeper hills.

StreetStrider team members have climbed very steep hills on our StreetStriders, including some of the steepest and highest hills in San Diego and San Francisco.

Can you coast when you’re going downhill?

Yes you can coast. The internal hub transmission that the StreetStrider is equipped with was selected with this in mind. When you stop striding, the StreetStrider will coast.

What are the best places to ride a StreetStrider?

The StreetStrider can be ridden in virtually all the places that a bicycle can be ridden. The StreetStrider is great fun on the street, bike paths, and in neighborhoods.

Check our community page, as we will soon be adding StreetStrider recommended paths and group stride events.

What are the advantages of a StreetStrider over a bicycle?

StreetStrider offers some advantages over a bicycle.

First, the StreetStrider offers a total body workout. You use your arms, back, legs, and shoulders to power the machine while your core helps you maintain balance.

Second, there’s no painful seat to sit on while you stride.

The fact that the StreetStrider has no seat may be especially important for men. Bicycle seats have been shown to cause damage to some of the delicate tissues in the groin that control certain bodily functions for some people.

What are some of the main reasons to ride a StreetStrider versus running?

Riding the StreetStrider is very similar to running in the way that it works the body, but riding a StreetStrider has a much lower impact on key joints.

When running, the back, knees, ankles and hips take a pounding. Riding a StreetStrider is a much lower impact exercise for these parts of your body.

My StreetStrider has a scratch.  Where can I find 'Touch Up' paint and what color should I look for?

We have found that Sherwin Williams automotive paints provide a near perfect color match to the StreetStrider colors.  To match your paint, go to a Sherwin Williams store and simply ask for the color code that corresponds to your StreetStrider color.

Galaxy Black:  3A - 42154
